Republican Rosie Pino is hoping to unseat Democratic Rep. Nellie Pou in New Jersey’s 9th Congressional District.
A Clifton councilwoman and former school board member, Pino is a former Democrat who says the party no longer represents working families.
Republicans haven't won the district since the late 1970s. But President Donald Trump narrowly carried it in 2024, while Pou won her first congressional race by fewer than five percentage points. Pino believes those results give Republicans an opening.
