Data collected
NJ PBS and its hosting services may process limited technical information needed to operate and secure the website, including browser type, device type, approximate connection information, and the date and time of a request. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics also records information about the pages you visit and how you reached the site. If you email NJ PBS or submit a form, the information you provide is used to respond to your request.
Analytics and cookies
NJ PBS uses Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic and improve this website. The Google tag does not load, and no analytics request or analytics cookie is created, unless you select Allow analytics and newsletter tools. Advertising storage, ad user data, ad personalization, and Google signals stay off.
The same choice controls Mailchimp’s connected-site code, which supports NJ PBS newsletter signup tools. Mailchimp code does not load until you allow it. If NJ PBS publishes a Mailchimp signup form, Mailchimp may use a cookie to remember whether you viewed the form and may measure form performance.
The site saves your choice in the first-party njpbs-consent cookie. The browser
uses this record to enforce your choice. A denial or Global Privacy Control
signal keeps analytics and Mailchimp newsletter tools off. NJ PBS does not put
either service on the Kids page or on pages that play video.
Third-party services
This website links to services that are hosted or controlled by other organizations. Watching on watch.njpbs.org (opens in new tab), the PBS app, PBS.org, PBS Passport pages, PBS donation forms, social media platforms, and the NJ Spotlight News website may be governed by their own privacy notices and account terms.

Donation and Passport data
NJ PBS does not collect payment-card information on this site. Online donations are processed through PBS donation tools; a donation mailed as a check goes directly to NJ PBS and does not pass through those tools. PBS Passport viewing and account sign-in are handled by PBS-hosted services.
Your privacy choices
You can ask NJ PBS to:
- tell you what personal information it holds about you, and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong
- delete personal information it holds about you
- opt out of any sale of your personal information, or its use for targeted advertising
